Nissan Certified Pre-Owned

You’re well aware of the advantages of buying a pre-owned vehicle. It rewards you with a lower cost, which means less interest and sales tax paid, a quicker pay-off, and less depreciation because the previous owner already suffered the loss in value. However, you may still hesitate to own a used vehicle, even if it is from the large inventory at Empire Nissan in Ontario, because you’re concerned about not having a warranty if something goes wrong. In that case, we recommend buying Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) models, which offer several advantages.

Qualifying for CPO

Not just any vehicle can qualify for the CPO designation, which is only available on eligible Nissan models. It must pass a comprehensive multi-point inspection that looks at as many as 167 factors and must also have less than 80,000 miles. To verify the car’s qualifications, you receive a free CarFax Vehicle History Report, which details the vehicle’s mileage and history of ownership, maintenance, and accidents.

Limited Warranty

Arguably, the most significant benefit of buying a CPO vehicle is that it comes with its Limited Warranty which lasts for 7 years or 100,000 miles on the odometer, whichever comes first. This warranty covers any repairs that are needed on powertrain components, such as the following:

• Conventional engine, hybrid engine, electric vehicle motor, and onboard charger.
• Transmission and transfer case.
• Drivetrain.

Any covered fixes are subject to a $100 deductible per visit, and any replacements will be made with a new or remanufactured part from Nissan. If the part isn’t available, a part of equal quality outsourced from outside Nissan can be used. For these repairs, you can take your vehicle to our Service Department, where our factory-certified automotive techs will look after your car.

Emergency Roadside Assistance

You also receive 24-hour emergency roadside assistance with no out-of-pocket costs up to $100 for such issues as jump-starting a dead battery, changing your flat tire using your spare, delivery of gas costing up to five dollars if you run out of fuel, and assistance with getting into a locked door. If your vehicle has a mechanical breakdown, the Roadside Assistance Rep can arrange to tow your ride to the nearest Nissan dealership or authorized repair facility with towing costs not exceeding $100 per claim.

Travel Assistance

If you need to rent a car because your vehicle is being repaired due to the failure of a covered part, you are reimbursed for the expense at up to $42 a day or up to $210 for a five-day maximum. If the breakdown of a covered component happens when you are more than 100 miles from home, you can receive up to $500 of trip interruption reimbursement for meals, lodging, and alternative transportation.
