What John, Adam, and Manny Cabrera did for my dad was one of those. John and I went to grade school together, but I hadn’t seen him since 1988. When I travel home to visit my dad a few weeks ago and he told me he was ready to buy his dream truck, I immediately thought of John. And they found it. What impressed me just as much was how they treated my dad. He’s older and old-school, and after visiting a couple of other dealerships, the difference was remarkable. At Empire Nissan, he was treated with dignity and respect. Nobody rushed him, talked down to him, or took advantage of him. They were honest, straightforward, gave him an incredible deal, and made sure he understood everything. Manny’s care didn’t end when the sale did. Dad was so excited when he picked up his truck that he didn’t absorb half of what he was being shown about all the new technology. Manny invited him back and spent a couple of HOURS with him, patiently going through everything until Dad was comfortable with his new truck. That meant more to me than Manny probably realizes. Empire Nissan even invited Dad back for a new-owner event, where he had a wonderful time and, according to him, some of the best tacos he’s ever had.
